The puritans
The main Puritans belief was God’s supreme authority over human affairs, particularly in the Church, and as expressed in the Bible. Another belief was an emphasis on private study of Bible. A desire to see education and enlightenment for the masses. They also did not celebrate traditional holidays that they believed to be in violation of the regulative principle of worship. Some approved of the church hierarchy, but others sought to reform the Episcopal churches on the Presbyterian model. Some separatist Puritans were Presbyterian, but most were Congregationalists. These people went through a lot to get themselves on their feet. They set sail for freedom is what I believe, knowing that they had to face a furious dangerous ocean before them. Surprisingly they made it to solid ground, and were more than happy to. "They fell upon their knees and blessed the God of Heaven who had brought them over the fast and furious ocean." But this was not the only obstacle on their journey to freedom. I respect these people for not panicking when they realized that the grounds were deserted. If it was me I would have panicked knowing that there was absolutely no living being was I was supposed to start a new life. So after some exploration the met up with some Indians and set some rules for each other. I thought this was pretty smart of them because if someone did something out of hand all they had to do was go to their agreement and punish them for what they did, without anybody opposing to it. So that was a smart move on them. After, the winter came and they had to survive on the little supplies they had. They came to a conclusion that every man had to provide for his family and they were each given a piece of land to do so. This was a pretty good plan and I think they were sent about it. This idea worked for them, they each provided for each other and im not 100% sure but I don't think anybody died during the winter.Total DepravityTotal Depravity is the fallen state of man as a result of original sin. The Doctrine of total depravity teaches that people are by nature not inclined to love God with their whole heart, mind, or strength as he requires, but rather all follow their own beliefs pretty much. Ummm I might not fully understand Total Depravity but from what I understand I agree with it. I don't think God would force someone to love him, knowing the consequences a person should choose if they want to believe or "worship" something. I don't think God would make someone love him if they really didn't. Every person is their own person and they have the ability to choose what they want to do as long as it isn't hurting others. I might have the wrong meaning of Total Depravity but this is pretty much what I understood from it from reading about it.Limited Atonement."Jesus died for the chosen only, not for everyone resistible Grace is freely given; it cannot be earned or denied. Grace is defined as the saving and transfiguring power of God." I like this piece of text ALOT from what I understand Jesus didn't die for everyone, he died for the chosen or the ones that want to be chosen. His Grace is freely given, I don't think he restricts his grace; his grace is open to whoever wants to be graced by it. It cannot be earned or denied! So I think its personal option weather you want some of his grace or not if not, God will not deny you I think he will actually be sad but yet again it's your own choice and I think it's never too late to accept God in your life.
